While Googling around for some pottery the other day I happened to come across this piece of art by the danish designer/ceramicist Per Rehfeldt. So beautiful and genius, don't you think? I predict it's a unique one-of-a-kind vase cause I can't seem to find it anywhere. Though I've sent him an email asking about it so cross your fingers he will get back to me. I just couldn't resist.

Spirit Animal
ALLIGATOR
'Crocodile Eating Ballerina', Helmut Newton, 1983.
"... for the same reason that careers will be difficult to choose - Alligators don't want to make mistakes... " ... those born under this sign are likely to have trouble finding the perfect career fit. That's because there are two distinct sides to Alligators - that which wants others to be proud and impressed by their achievements and the which wants to explore the deeper mysteries of the world." ... "The most important life lesson for an Alligator is to find a balance between all the different sides of life."
So, maybe it's not so strange why I have these feelings a little now and then. I just found out that my Spirit Animal is the Alligator so now all this makes sense. Though it's a bit exhausting (as it's all still the same) it's kind of a relief to know that I'm not just completely nuts feeling this way. It's just something I'm born into and have to make the best out of instead. Wish me luck! x

Monday Mood
Embrion by Edyta Lesniak.
That was a while ago. Life happened (mostly work though), but on the other hand my inspiration hasn't been on top either. I question the things I do and the way I do it. I wouldn't say that I feel insecure. Rather lost and ambivalent. It's sad and annoying. Some days this is all I want to do - be creative and express myself and the next day I just laugh at it thinking it's all silly meaningless nonsense.
Do you feel me in this or am I about to lose it completely?
Sunday Mood
'Drape' by Eva Stenram.
And so another week has come to an end. Some of you might find this last day of the week genious, but to me it's the one day I dislike the most. The sad, but honest fact that I'm a person who sees the glass as half empty rather than half full might play a part in this minor mindset I unwantedly possess. For most of us it's a free day, still weekend and a day when it's even religiously legal to rest. I try, but continue to fail.
To me it's this insidious feeling of agony...
– for the things I didn't accomplish and for what will come, but mostly for the powerlessness to prevent time from slipping through our fingers, day by day, like tiny grains of hot silky sand.
Do you ever feel this or did you finish your glass without any reflections at all?

You're A Star
The last couple of weeks I've been totally obsessed with everything astrological and how the sun, moon and the entire solar system affect our beings and behaviors. Every since I was I kid I've been mesmerized by the stars and what's out there. I nearly even applied to the Space Science high school in Kiruna, but changed my mind because it was so far away from home. Anyhow there's something appealing with not knowing, don't you think? It triggers our mind and imagination, makes us dream, but also question who and what we really are. Though there are times in life when we feel lost and blank. Like no one understands us, not even ourself sometimes. These moments you should always remember that there's no coincidence that you became the one you are. It's all written in the stars and if we're willing to it can give us guidance and clarity to move forward and become the best version of the one we are meant to be. For new perceptions and knowledge about yourself and the people around you I really recommend you to check out Astro.com.

On My Mind
RAVISHING RED
So, it's been a while and I'm sorry for that. All my waking hours I've spent at work. It's been so busy now when Christmas is around the corner. Thankfully I got a few hours off today so, inspired by the current season, I couldn't resist putting together what I have had in mind lately.
It's said to be a Oscar contender, this intimate portrait of Jackie Kennedy (starred by beautiful Natalie Portman), the First Lady of America in the 1960s. As she is considered to be one of the greatest style icons through history, I hope to get some real style inspiration from this film. Here in Sweden, Jackie is set to be released at the beginning of next year and I just can't wait!
Always a winner. What better way to celebrate the Santa season than with a classic red lip? Personally I go for an organic and cruelty free alternative. Right now I'm very curious to try the Canadian (now LA-based) brand, ILIA. Any experiences?
One of the most inspirational performance artists out there, Marina Ambramovic, recently published her memoirs – 'Walk through walls'. So curious to get a glimpse inside the mind of this powerful woman and her works.
THE MANICURE
Classic red nails by all means, but now I want to twist it up with a little pink, just like Emilia de Poret. So fresh!

DOWN UNDER
Of course you need a party pantie! I just realized I don't own any red underwear so I guess now is the perfect time to invest in some. Lace is always a winner.
If I had the dollars I wouldn't hesitate a second. These stardust stilettos from Christian Louboutin would make you shine brightest on all the upcoming feasts. When you wish upon a star...

La Vague ≠ 1
Landed in Amsterdam at lunch time, grabbed a cab and headed straight to the gallery, OT301.
... where my friend Nina was all busy fixing and trixing with her paintings. Of course I had to surprise her with some flowers!
Olivia, the curator, and Nina checking out one of the other artists, Tiemen Visser's, work – printed textile covered with a sheer layer of rice paper.
Pre-exhibition mode.
Nina's amazing graduation paintings.
Loved these prints by Jessy Van Dinther, another graduate from Gerrit Rietveld Academie. Can you see the references?
Mixed techniques – charcoal and spray paint.
Happy me!
How to celebrate a successful exhibition? With beers and a bunch of artsy people. It was so inspiring to hear about their different works and projects.
Zoë Ghertner
On Tuesday it was the last day of the photo course I've been going to. I've learned the basics and when you get a grip on these things it feels like a whole new world is opening up in front of you.
After all, I believe the hardest part is to create that perfect setting, to have the ability to actually see the picture in your mind and then manage to capture, not only the objects, but most of all the emotions in it.
One I admire for doing all this is Zoë Ghertner. The way she plays with shadows is just so beautiful and truly amazing. The simple settings bring a new, much purer and greater, value to the objects. It gives a feeling there's beauty in everything.
Marina
Abramović
Few things touch me, but this woman she truly does.
Six days a week, seven hours a day, she sat on a plain chair and stared into the visitor's eyes at MoMa in New York. For three months. This was her longest performance to date, The Artist Is Present.

Pink
Having a thing for pink at the moment. Perhaps it's the spring heading upon us.
Annika von Holdt's sofa really makes the entire room. And that photo wall, just perfect! Actually I've been thinking of arranging a wall like this myself. Love the personality it gives to your home, having pictures of your friends and family etc. Black and white ones are the most beautiful.
Can't wait to days when you can run around like this, in heels and skirt. Also it reminds me I need more color in my wardrobe. That cozy knit, yes please.
Pink and gold, a match made in heaven. Skip your safe card nude and go for a more pink-ish one next time you're about to do your nails. At least I will.

Watercolor 'Rosen' by Joseph Beuys. Art speaks for itself.
N. Kjer
Last week I bought my very first artwork.
The artist? None other than one of my best friends!
Normally she's based in Amsterdam where she's studying art, but this summer (while home on holiday) she exhibited some of her works in their cozy summerhouse by the river.
I'm telling you, the astonishment when entering the door...
It was no doubt. I SO needed one. Not just because she's my friend, but for being such a talent.
So, folks... Make sure to put the name N. Kjer in mind.
Keep up your amazing work, N! xxx
Take me away
The rain is pouring and the sky is grayer than an ashtray.

SPLASH!
WHILE REFURNISHING yesterday I got a creative impulse to fill these frames with some colour. This is the result!
BIKE
I KNOW IT'S still weeks away, at least for me having winter most part of the year.., but as soon as all the snow has melted away and there's tee-temp outside, I'm gonna buy a cheap old bike (preferably an "old lady" one) and spray paint it. Watch out!
UPDATE: The tricky thing is what colour I should go for.. What do you think?
