Passion For Pink

Hello Monday! Is it just me loving this first day of the week? It always makes me feel so excited and full of energy, ready to tackle both work and my to-do list.

This week I'm getting that thumb out and finally order these two lip thingies from ILIA. I really love a classic red lip and doesn't want to comprise on the quality, which in my case means natural and non toxic ingredients. This brand does live up to my standards so I'm looking forward to try them out.

 And speaking of trying out... Ok, sorry for the silly choice of words now, but can you imagine my shock when my bf (even more silly that it was him of everyone) who told me there was a new YSL mascara out! The Shock, it's called and apparently it's said to be even better(!) than the original The Shocking. Love its black and rosé pink packaging and can't wait to try this one either. Guess it's the first time I'm happy I'm running out of mascara, haha.

Loved by women all over for his iconic perfumes, Narciso Rodriguez just recently launched a new perfume to his sought-after collection – Fleur Musc and as the name tells, I predict this can be a real joy for the nose!

Oh, and pink in general... I've fallen completely in love with this color. Somehow it makes me so happy. It's even so serious that I've been considering painting a few walls in this color! And scrolling through the style star Linn Eklund's Instagram feed makes my heart skip even further. Check out to see yourself. Time will tell if I'm brave enough to buy that bucket...

Monday Mind

And just like that a fresh new week kicked off. I started it with some cake baking followed by a hot sauna. This is what I'm thinking of at the moment:

Two of my favorite Italian bellas, Giorgia Tordini and Gilda Ambrosio, launched their own line, ATTICO, in February. The seasonless collection is inspired by the classic peignoir and exudes femininity, sensuality and glamour. Handmade embellisments, sheer lace and the finest of silk and satin really makes me crave for all these dreamy unique pieces. 

The classic TRENCHCOAT. Well, this forever favorite doesn't need any further presentation. From Brigitte Bardot to Kate Moss, every style star worth knowing has been sporting this chic staple piece. Right now, with spring approaching, I feel for one in a soft beige tone. So fresh.

Ever dreamt of having your very own perfume, the one that smells just like you? Well, together with the Stockholm-based company COLLECT & BOTTLE it's now possible. During a private consultation with the founder Tomas you get to smell around 50 different scents, picking out the ones you like and which later are perfectly mixed together, put in a 30 ml bottle and labeled with a name of your desire. Et voilà! How cool?!

Flared jeans by all means, but this style spotted on both Barbara Martelo and Emmanuelle Alt really takes it to a new level! Cropped and raw hems. So perfetto now during the summer! Seems quite hard to find this style in stores, but a little DIY easily solve that problem. Just pull out the scissors and chop of a full length flared pair. Et voilà!

On Tuesday it was the last day of the photo course I've been going to. I've learned the basics and when you get a grip on these things it feels like a whole new world is opening up in front of you.

After all, I believe the hardest part is to create that perfect setting, to have the ability to actually see the picture in your mind and then manage to capture, not only the objects, but most of all the emotions in it.

One I admire for doing all this is Zoë Ghertner. The way she plays with shadows is just so beautiful and truly amazing. The simple settings bring a new, much purer and greater, value to the objects. It gives a feeling there's beauty in everything. 

Balcony Dreams

The rain never seems to end. All night and all day it's been pouring down. Instead of looking out I dream away to warmer days ahead. I can't wait to decorate my balcony with lots of colorful flowers, to have long breakfasts in the sun and to sip some bubbles in the evening. Where are you, summer?

If it wasn't for the rain pouring down, the fact that it's only +2 degrees outside and still snow here and there I wouldn't mind wearing this today. Not at all. And those wedges – how perfect? Anyone knowing what brand they are?

Six days a week, seven hours a day, she sat on a plain chair and stared into the visitor's eyes at MoMa in New York. For three months. This was her longest performance to date, The Artist Is Present.

Pink

Having a thing for pink at the moment. Perhaps it's the spring heading upon us.

Annika von Holdt's sofa really makes the entire room. And that photo wall, just perfect! Actually I've been thinking of arranging a wall like this myself. Love the personality it gives to your home, having pictures of your friends and family etc. Black and white ones are the most beautiful. 

Can't wait to days when you can run around like this, in heels and skirt. Also it reminds me I need more color in my wardrobe. That cozy knit, yes please. 

Pink and gold, a match made in heaven. Skip your safe card nude and go for a more pink-ish one next time you're about to do your nails. At least I will.

Solar Eclipse

Listen up, lovers! The winds of change are blowing. Today, March 20th, could be the most intense day this year. We're about to witness a total solar eclipse, followed by the equinox, which ignites a major turning point and beginning into our lives. At the exact point of the eclipse, the moon will cross paths with the sun and create a burst of energy release. Many of us could feel a total system reboot, a resurgence of some sort, as eclipses often come with an intense and energizing energy. Something new is waiting so, let's head out and seize this rare and magical opportunity.

Oh MyOcelot

Whoops! Almost forgot what's hiding in my wardrobe. Two years ago I happened to come across a very rare ocelot fur coat, but to be honest I never found the right opportunity to wear it yet (except on New Years when watching the fireworks)... Such ashamed, I know. I should really give it a go again soon.

Style StarsSay Lou Lou

With the 70's style trends all over us I find myself dreaming back to that lovely summer night when me and my love went to see the electro-pop duo Say Lou Lou playing at a festival in a town nearby. On a beach, by the sea, with the midnight sun as the perfect backdrop... I remember I nearly cried over all the mightiness I felt that night. Beautiful memory. 

And talking about dreaming... Well, I wouldn't mind the twin sister's wardrobes. Their sound might be strongly extraordinary, but I'm telling you... So is their sense of style (as you can see)! 

I just love the laid back, but still glamorous, 70's feeling. Flares and long flowing lengths, drapings and not to talk about those perfectly blow-dried waves on top of them all... 

Such a crazy crush they even make me considering getting bangs myself(!!) ...

When going through both the Resort and Spring/Summer collections we clearly see that many of the designers have been influenced by the 70's era. One of the biggest trends? Undoubtedly the wide silhouette.


What?
Palazzo, cropped, culottes (Chloé, Marni, Dries Van Noten and Rachel Zoe all showed some amazing styles). Beloved child has many names. As long as they're wide you can just pick any of these fits (or go for all of them and vary!) and you'll be ready to meet the summery season in style.

How? 
From slouchy to sophisticated, it's all in the fabric. Silk, satin and crepe is the way to the upcoming season's loose luxury.


With?
It all depends on what style you're going for. For a relaxed look, just wear it with a simple basic tank top. Fond of contrasts? Go for a printed washed out sporty t-shirt tucked down in waist. Want a more sleek Studio 54-feeling? Think luxe shiny fabrics (satin, lamé etc), fur and outrageous makeup… This versatile piece really has no limits and is easy to personalize.


When?
On your next flight (when comfy is key) as well as to a fancy dinner party when you feel for making a more sophisticated (and perhaps unexpected?) impression.

I can't say I'm very into stockings. Never been. I can count the times a year I'm wearing a skirt/dress on one hand (ok, maybe two..) so they are hardly never needed. But then I happened to see this picture of Capucine Safyurtlu and just like that black stockings are now on top of my "got to get"-list! I mean, it's so boring just wearing those denims all the time, don't you think?

SHADE OF NOTHING

High ceilings, decorative mouldings and light spacious rooms. Tick those boxes in and you have my dream home. A flawless ground like that and not much more is needed. It speaks for itself. Oh well, this ain't reality yet, but... I'M MOVING and I couldn't be more excited at the moment!! Every single inch of my pretty little mind is totally invaded by interior thoughts. It's almost I can't sleep at night. No, seriously. This is me in a nutshell. Planner could be my middle name.

Materials, furniture, objects, DIYs... And then we have... The colour. I start to sweat, my heart beats faster. 

What is the perfect white? 

I do like always. I Google it. My heart calms when realizing I'm in great company of so many other lost decorators. It wouldn't be overstated saying white is the absolute hardest shade (cause it's no colour, right?) to choose. 

Happen to be in the same (horrible) situation?

 Make sure you know what other colours, materials etc you're going to have before choosing your perfect shade of nothing cause white is extremely sensitive. It can appear yellow, blue and green (to only name a few) depending on surrounded colours, objects, flooring etc. 

See why I'm ridiculously  pernickety? In my perfectionistic world green walls would mean a disaster..

Thought the greatest impact is still the amount of light in your room. If you wanna analyze the appearance of colour even further (hands up, I admit...) you also take notice to where the room/house is located as the light differs whether your windows are faced to north, south, east or west.

So, what's my imagination of the perfect white? 

Warm without looking creamy, but still crips and clean without feeling cold...

Ok, enough of shade choosing and decorating dilemmas for today or insanity will come before we even get the keys.
