On My Mind

On the 1st of December we're going to a Christmas show/party and instead of a dress (which I've been wearing every single year = boring!) I feel for something less traditional this time. Yesterday I ordered these Vinyl Pants from MANGO and if they fit I might wear them. Patent can be a bit hard to style and some might even find this high shine fabric kinky. The secret to prevent this is to keep everything else simple and balance up with something more feminine and delicate.

Personally I have a soft spot for ruffles so this Crepe Top from J.CREW would be the perfect match.

Party means dancing so therefore I prefer a slightly lower heel. These Ankle Strap Sandals from NELLY are a real bargain as they are both classic and wallet friendly.

One can always dream, right? These Pearl Drop Earrings from MIZUKI would add just that little extra.

Now when winter is here for real we have to focus even more on hydrating our skin. Right now everyone is buzzing about the sheet mask, but as you know I'm very selective with ingredients I therefore haven't tried one yet. After some Googeling I luckily came across the brand 100% PURE which have three different ones I would love to try! Green Tea Water Bomb Mask from 100% PURE.

My hair heroes are running out so it's time to refill. Voluminous Shampoo and Conditioner Duo Gift Set from RAHUA.

The Blow-Dry Buddy
CHITIN SPRAY

I've never been a fan of having my hair out loose to be honest. I don't know why, but somehow I just feel much more comfortable and sharp when it's up. I know it's pretty boring most of the times, but sadly I suspect this might have affected the way I feel about my hair.. It really tears on you. The worst thing would be if anyone saw. Therefore it has always been very important to feel that I have control over it, if you see what I mean. Anyhow I try to be better and has now indulged myself with some new products. I imagine it might make the relation to my hair a bit better. A current favorite is this organic blow-dry lotion from LESS IS MORE. It makes my hair much thicker and oh so shiny! Now I just saw that they also have another volumizing spray, Angelroot, which sounds amazing as well. Might try that next time.

Shopping List
LONDON

The days are flying. Only two weeks left until WE are! As the crazy organizer I am, I haven't been doing much the last couple of days except planning, searching and adding pins to my Google Maps (what would I do without this phenomenal app?). As we're staying three nights in London (just booked the hotel last night!) there are a few things I wish to check out and hopefully buy, at least some of them.

But first out we're going for a day trip to Stonehenge. It's been on my list ever since I wrote an essay about it in high school. Everything unexplained and mysterious makes my heart skips a beat.

I've been thinking of buying it so many times, but never seemed to get to the point. It's just that some things I want to buy in a physical store. To see, touch and actually hold it in your hands feels much more special and has a different value. It becomes more of an experience and something you will look back on and remember everytime you use it. Also I guess it's cheaper in the UK as it's the country of manufacture? Anyway – the Rolls Royce of hairbrushes from MASON PEARSON.

I so need to update my lingerie. If it only wasn't so hard finding something that actually fits. Panties, no problem, but bras... Mama Mia. Mission impossible, most of the times. The dreamiest panties to wear down under? LA PERLA, no doubt.

The same goes with my sportswear – update required. Wish to find a pair of organic yoga leggings. Any suggestions? These ATM ANTHONY THOMAS MELILLO Yoga legging in lightweight modal seems oh so comfy.

No wardrobe is complete without a pair of classic go-to pumps. I still don't own those stiletto saviours, but these are by far the most perfect pair if you ask me. BB 90 pumps from MANOLO BLAHNIK.

It's been there since my teens, but though I've been so sick of the ring in my tragus the last couple of years (too big and ugly) I somehow decided to keep it. I want something much more discreet and sophisticated. This little diamond stud earring from MARIA TASH would be just enough spark but still look chic, don't you think?

Like mentioned, Chanel has launched a new EDP, Gabrielle, and I can't wait to smell it! Parfum from CHANEL.

Are you planning any trip soon? If so, what's on your list? xx

Get The Trend
TARTAN

'Walk Through Walls' by MARINA ABRAMOVIC  –  Double-breasted checked blazer from MAYLA  –  Sunglasses from MANGO  –  Stockholm T-shirt from TOTÊME  –  Curved stud earrings from COS  –  Original denim light blue from TOTÊME  –  Chain leather bag from MANGO  –  Pocket bristle brush from MASON PEARSON  –  Velvet slingback from MANGO.

This is how I would style the tartan trend. I prefer to put the blazer in the spotlight, to work as the key player. As we all know, this pattern can easily calls good ol grandma to mind, but to avoid and weigh this up I choose a pair of relaxed fit denim in a lighter wash. To make it all pop I go for a bag in red (which is another big trend for autumn/winter), cat eye sunnies and a slingback with a lower heel. Love these Dior-inspired velvet ones from Mango. Though I normally prefer gold instead of silver I go for the later in this case. Silver will add freshness and a much more modern feeling to the outfit. These earrings are spot on. And the book and hairbrush? Well, they're still on my wish list.

Haircare Companions

Oh, they sure are! These two have changed my hair completely. Looking back, remembering THIS makes me sad. Now my hair is healthier than ever, stays fresh for so much longer and is not as dull and dry as back then. I'm so glad I actually bought them. It's funny, every time I wash my hair their scent throw me back to our family trips in Finland and the smell of Finnish steam sauna. So on point and exactly the same as I remember it. Good times by the way.

I really recommend everyone to try these out. You won't be disappointed.

RAHUA Voluminous Shampoo  –  RAHUA Voluminous Conditioner

Rahua
Amazon Beauty

Coconut oil by all means, but now my horrible hair has come to a point where nothing seems to master the current madness. The fact that I don't use any conditioner might be one of the reasons... Unfortunately I never got to the point buying any. I tried Estelle & Thilde's once, but (sadly) it was kind of a joke to be honest... And after that I just, "Never mind... I don't care! It'll do...".

As you might know I'm very picky with ingredients. Only pure stuff enter my doorstep. So, finding something good is not the easiest. To my luck I happened to come across this brand RAHUA the other day. Actually I've been reading about it a few years ago already, but somehow I just forgot about it.

This brand is 100% natural, free from parabens & sulfates, vegan, gluten free AND organic! I mean, hellooo! Come to mama! Can't be any better, right? Now the only thing is the price. It's not for free if I put it that way... But you know what? I think it's worth it! I'M worth it.

Budget Beauty
Coconut Oil

After months of hiding in our beanies it's finally time to let our hair out.

But the question is - are we (read our hair) ready?

As we all know the winter comes with more than just snow... Dry skin, choppy lips and split ends are things we have to deal with on a daily basis this (cold and dark) time of the year.

My secret weapon against this? Coconut oil.

It works wonders for everything! Mainly I use it as a hair treatment. I put it in during the day, have a sauna in the evening and also let it stay in over night. The longer you leave it in, the better. Good luck! x

Style Stars
Say Lou Lou

With the 70's style trends all over us I find myself dreaming back to that lovely summer night when me and my love went to see the electro-pop duo Say Lou Lou playing at a festival in a town nearby. On a beach, by the sea, with the midnight sun as the perfect backdrop... I remember I nearly cried over all the mightiness I felt that night. Beautiful memory.

And talking about dreaming... Well, I wouldn't mind the twin sister's wardrobes. Their sound might be strongly extraordinary, but I'm telling you... So is their sense of style (as you can see)!

I just love the laid back, but still glamorous, 70's feeling. Flares and long flowing lengths, drapings and not to talk about those perfectly blow-dried waves on top of them all...

Such a crazy crush they even make me considering getting bangs myself(!!) ...
What do you think? Do or don't?

HAIR HOLD

Right now I wish my hair was slightly longer so I could wear a bold statement necklace like this, as seen at Chanel Fall 2013.

BEAUTY, PART I :
HAIR

Bristle hair brush
I'm no proud owner of the Rolls Royce of brushes (read Mason Pearson). Yet. Never tried one, but I'm thinking bristle as bristle, or? Well, a Rolls or not - just make sure it's bristle as it's very gentle, anti-static and gives your hair a nice gloss. A little tips? Regularly wash your brush with shampoo and hot water. That will keep your hair fresh for longer. (Don't do this to Mr Pearson! He needs special treatment. Check your manual.).

No Sulfates
Sulfates is a strong detergent used as a base (foaming agent) in most schampoos (and other cleansing products). It easily takes away old styling products (which is good), but the side effects are really bad... In long term it actually dries your hair from inside and out. Your scalp responds by producing more sebum as a following of the dryness, you don't want greasy hair so you wash it again, it get worse... See the bad circle this mean sulfate creates? I recently bought these two (sulfate free of course!)...

Estelle & Thild Bergamot Shampoo & Balsam
So far I really love them! My hair gets so crazily soft, shiny and easy to handle and stays fresh for way much longer than when I'm using a "normal" schampoo. The quality of my hair has become totally different since I started to use these two. Stronger and somehow it feels quite thicker than before. Unfortunately it's not so liberal. You need a slightly bigger amount than you're used to, but the pros are so many and so good that I don't care about this little thing! A good tips? Always finish off with cold water. That will make your hair shiny and also prevent split ends.

Dry schampoo
A real time savior when your hair needs a little fresh up. Just bought this...

Kisby Dry Shampoo Powder
Actually I was looking for Kloraine, but couldn't find it so this will do until then. Good thing is it's 99,7% natural stuff in it, which I like (of course). This is the powder variant so the application can be a bit tricky until you get used to it. The result is good and the hair stays fresh all day. A big plus is that I don't find the hair becoming white and dusty as many other dry shampoos can cause. Just make sure to massage it in very well, comb your hair and you're ready to go!

CHOP CHOP BANG?

Backstage at Hunkydory

MBFW STOCKHOLM took off yesterday and after a quick look through, this is what caught my eye! Suddenly I kind of want to get a fringe again... (AND that bracelet in the last picture!).
